That person will help to coordinate your efforts, keep track of your hours, and assist you in any way you may need.

Nature Center Special Exhibits Assistant Those who have artistic, native gardening, or building skills are invited to help us make signs, murals, exhibits, and other improvements to the nature center. Call us to discuss how we may pair your abilities with our needs!
Public Relations The Moser Park Nature Center and the Parks and Recreation Department need some help in getting the word out about all of the educational and enrichment programs we offer to the public. We invite those with experience in marketing or program development to assist us. Individuals who are willing to pass out fliers and put up posters could also help us reach a wider audience.
Natural Resource Management Individuals and groups, even large ones, can make a great difference to the natural appeal of our parks. These projects involve removing invasive plant species, which means getting “down and dirty” with the potential of poison ivy, bugs, and hot weather. Some projects are more involved than others. There is a big payoff for your hard work in knowing you have helped improve habitat for native plants and animals.
Tree Board Commission If you have a passion for trees and would like to see the city’s street trees and park trees properly cared for, then we would like to hear from you. Please fill out a volunteer application and send it to us.
We will review your application once we receive it. You will be contacted to discuss upcoming vacancies. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community.

Great Tree Canopy Comeback Always on the first Saturday in November, this event is New Haven’s Arbor Day Event. Trees are planted with the help of volunteers. This is done to assist in combating the critical loss of urban tree canopy due to weather, disease, and development.
